Tips To Prevent Vape Tank Leaking
Some vape tanks are prone to leak immediately after refilling. Especially to top-fill tank designs. To be on the safe side, close the airflow before each refill to minimize the chances of leaking. When you fill from the top, you are actually increasing the air pressure in the tank because the liquid is displacing the air.

Vape bands can be a fantastic tool to not only protect your glass tank but also to help prevent vape leaking. Have one vape band around the middle of the tank to prevent the glass and another vape band that you can slide down over the base of the tank overnight and when carrying your vape in a pocket, purse, car, or what have you. The vape band may not prevent a vape tank leaking, but it can contain the mess.
Vape Pen Leaking
A vape pen leaking is usually handled by not overfilling. Vape pen tanks tend to be smaller and often leak out of the drip tip. They are especially vulnerable when tipped on their side such as when you are carrying one in a pocket or purse. Ego style tanks are notorious for this. There is not a lot you can do other than try and keep the vape pen upright.
If your vape pen was on its side all night, you can take a cotton swab and insert it into the drip tip before vaping. That way you will clear out some of the juice that may have leaked out during the night. Once you start vaping the leak should clear up.
Traveling With Vapes
Another thing that can cause vape leaks is air travel. If you take your vape gear with you on an airplane, it is possible that the vape tank could leak during the flight. The air pressure in an airplane cabin is designed to mimic the air pressure that exists at 10,000 feet. The change in air pressure will cause vape juice to expand. If a vape tank is full, expanded liquids will push our of airflow slots and drip tips.
All types of vape juice, and liquids, expand in lower air pressure. That is why it is a good idea not to travel with a full vape tank. Before you carry on your vape gear, make sure you tank is at half capacity or less. That can help prevent a leaky vape tank during a flight.
